FROM BRODICK FERRY TO THE GLENARTNEY |
Turn right out of the ferry terminal road. |
Continue along the shore road until you see a small Coop on the right hand side. |
Turn immediately left around the chinese takeway, ensuring the Post Office is on your right hand side. |
Go past the Brodick Brasserie and up the hill. |
On the brow of the hill turn right you will see The Glenartney just up this road on the left hand side. |

FROM LOCHRANZA FERRY TO THE GLENARTNEY |
Turn left out of the ferry terminal and proceed through Lochranza. |
Carry on on this scenic road through Sannox and Corrie to Brodick. |
Pass the golf club and village hall (both on your left hand side) |
Take the right hand turning opposite the chemist but ensure the Post Office is on your right hand side |
Go past the Brodick Brasserie and up the hill. |
On the brow of the hill turn right you will see The Glenartney just up this road on the let hand side. |

GETTING THE ARDROSSAN FERRY TERMINAL
BY CAR
From the South of the country
Find your way up to the M74 and on the the A71 (junction 8). Head west along the A71 at Strathaven. Continue on to Irvine. Then find the A78, you will see brown tourist signs for Ardrossan and the ferry terminal. From Glasgow and Central Scotland. Take the M77 to Kilmarnock and on to the A71 to Irvine. From Irvine via the A78 to Ardrossan and the ferry terminal. You can park your car at the ferry terminal for £2.00 per day if you do not want to bring it to the island.
North Scotland and the Western Isles
You have the scenic route in the summer months by travelling via the ferry from Claonaig, on the mainland, to Lochranza, on the north of Arran. You can not book the Lochranza / Claonaig ferry but if you are leaving the island via Brodick remember to book your car this ferry. You can book with Caledonian MacBrayne the link above or ring on
BY TRAIN
Trains from Glasgow Central run in conjunction with the ferry sailings from Ardrossan.Transfers can be made from Glasgow Airport at Paisley, Gilmour Street and from Prestwick Airport at Kilwinning.
Alternatively, taxis can be pre- booked to take you to the Calmac ferry (see transport to Arran ferry link)
BY FERRY
Several daily trips run between Ardrossan and Brodick and take approximately 55 minutes. The ferry has dining facilities, bar and small shops to keep you entertained on the way. Once you arrive on the Island, please refer to the map via this link to find your way to the guesthouse.
CAR PARKING
Cars can be parked on the left hand side of The Glenartney drive, or on the quiet road outside the guesthouse grounds.
